The Read

A targeted treatment for sun spots and post-acne marks.

What it is

A 1% kojic-acid spot treatment.

Kojic acid at 1%, with a vitamin C ester and antioxidant sea buckthorn and vitamin E — a small, concentrated dose meant for the mark, not the whole face.

Why it works

Kojic acid fades the spot by quieting the enzyme behind it.

It inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme that makes melanin, so existing marks lighten as the skin renews and less new pigment forms. Applied point by point, it concentrates the work where you need it. Dark spots are slow to fade — expect six to twelve weeks, and daily SPF, or sun undoes the progress.

How to use

A dot directly on the mark, nightly.

After your serum, before moisturizer. Onto the spot only — sun spots, post-acne marks, areas of melasma. Nightly and consistent; this is patience work.

The proof

Every claim pinned to its source.

Brightening · the active

Kojic Acid

1%

A fungal-derived tyrosinase inhibitor that blocks a key step in melanin synthesis. In clinical use kojic acid measurably improved melasma; at 1% in a targeted dose it fades discrete dark spots over weeks of consistent, point-applied use.

Lim 1999 · Dermatol Surg

Antioxidant

Vitamin C & Sea Buckthorn

Ascorbyl palmitate (a vitamin C ester) with sea-buckthorn oil and vitamin E add antioxidant support around the spot. The vitamin C is a gentle ester form — supporting, not a high-dose brightener.
