The Read

Brighter, without the scrub.

What it is

A chemical face and body exfoliant.

Glycolic acid loosens dull surface cells; niacinamide and vitamin C support an even, brighter tone. A chemical polish — no grit, no friction.

Why it works

Glycolic acid has the deepest record of the AHAs.

Over months, glycolic-led alpha-hydroxy-acid use has been shown to thicken skin and improve photoaged texture. As an acid it can sensitise — introduce it slowly and wear SPF by day, since it leaves skin more sun-reactive.

How to use

Two to three times a week, then rinse.

Onto clean, wet skin two or three times weekly. Massage lightly, leave the moment the label allows, then rinse. Always follow with sunscreen in the morning.

Polish · the active

Glycolic acid

In a six-month study, alpha-hydroxy acids including glycolic increased skin thickness by roughly a quarter and improved photoaged texture, by loosening the bonds between dull surface cells. As an acid it raises sun sensitivity and can sting reactive skin — start slow, space it out, and protect with SPF.
